hope of a moment

sometimes there is the hope of a moment.
a moment when
with summer sweetness and dew on the blackberry bushes,
we are going to come into our true selves
no memory of the past
but with great love for the future.

sometimes there is the hope of a moment.
a moment when you are going to write it down
in black ink
because you want to remember forever
the day when everything changed.
not with fear of the breaking
but with expectation of the reckoning.

sometimes there is the hope of a moment.

--

but i know right now, with as much surety as my childish heart can muster,
that mine is the story of a dead man.

there was a grave.
and a darkness.
and then the sweetest Voice in the whole Universe
calling out my name when my cold heart wouldn't give a murmur.

this is all i know:
i was dead
but now i live.
and I am standing outside in the sunshine, bandages wrapped around my silly face,
laughing.
ah death, where is thy sting?

why do i look so mad in these. what is wrong. am i okay. do i need a hug. ???
anyways sissy took them.
that was fun.
okay bye.

Oh goodness my heart <3 This was beyond beautiful and I'm getting serious writer envy right now, but it's fine, I'll get over it as long as you continue to write heartbreakingly beautiful poetry </3
