      but that's the point, isn't it. this is a terrible story, a lovely pile of pages and chapters and words. you've always been so very keen on believing, but you never stopped to believe in... this story. there is thunder in the sky and fire in your bones, and if you ever want to see it, you're going to have to lose something. 

    perhaps it will not look like you thought it should - it rarely does - but you're going to lose it just the same. you will always be losing things. and that's how all the good stories go, remember?

listen.

that sky. that rumble in your soul. it is all just as tied to your story as you are. there is glory here. there will be days of light and chaos, days of rolling hills and empty mountain skies. and there will be days of nothingness. have you grown so silly as to forget that? you believe. do you believe you will suffer? do you believe you are loved? do you believe you will make it home? i do. but that's the point, isn't it. 

you will always be losing things. and until the end you will be fighting to believe.

take heart, dear one. there will stones enough to fill your crown, and stars enough to fill one hundred skies.

and that is the point, after all.
