you know i worry about you.

in the back of our minds, we both know i worry about you.

so much water has passed underneath our bridge

(i know now Who built it.)

but i still worry.

we laughed until the moon set, but she told me it wasn't me.

told me i couldn't make things grow

no matter how i wanted them to.

(i always overwater.)

but i still worry.

i stand beneath the fluorescent lights.

and come humbly before the throne of grace.

because i am a little girl who is scared of failure

when she holds so much.

you tell me that you know i worry.

and that...

the words stick in your throat and i grin at the floor.

but i know.

this is still Christ's day,

just as much as the day when it all falls apart. 

and you know i worry about you.

but i know what it meant and cost

for you to know.

and that price fills my heart

always.
