the words painted my heart

something that michelangelo had never seen.

though i was afraid

to paint the ceiling those colors.
my eyes watered just looking at that shade of blue.
too bright.
too wonderful.
there has to be some end.

and then.

{and then} you stayed.

{and then} we sang a couple of songs so loudly that we woke up the neighborhood.

{and then} we filled our pockets with sunsets.
it didn't end.
it was just summer.
endless.

none of this leaving.

just us.
