Strangers

Fog-road by ~Tywele

~ The light trickles down into shadows
      Clouds spread paper thin.
Over the trees hangs tender Venus,
lady of the night and morning.
          But I know her well.

We are strangers no more.

~ The snow melts away into life
     Forgotten things growing new.
Through the dirt peeps the flowers,
              heralds of the sunlit moths.
               But I know them well.

We are strangers no more.

~ The morning slowly remembers how to sing
      chickadees and sparrows rejoicing,
They fly fearless into the dawn,
      brothers and champions.
       But I know them well.

We are strangers no more.
