Spring

 - not mine -

I walked out into the cool of the rain yesterday.

It hung from every tree that had been barren so long...every branch that had born no leaves.

And despite the grey starkness of life around me, there was new birth in the air. Streaming in the ground. Shaking in the wind.

I closed my eyes and listened.

(Isaiah 51:3)
The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.

Every tree that has been barren so long.

And we'll find them blooming once again.

That verse always makes me teary, because who else would see goodness in ruins but our Lord? And every time I read it a searing thought fills me.

Oh, Lord.

Could there be some use for these broken things?

Yes.

Gardens and Edens out of ruins.

Hallelujah.

The rain passed in the night, all of it's fruit poured out on this old land of mine. And in the morning came the sun, reflections on every drop of silver water.

Gardens and Edens out of ruins.

Spring out of the winters of our aching hearts.

Hallelujah.

p.s. have a wonderful first day of spring!

  2. I hope you have a lovely first day of spring, too! :)
Today was the day before the meet,
the day of the school dance (Sadie Hawkins, but I'm not going),
the opening night of the Wizard of Oz,
    National Proposal Day
    and International Happiness Day!

But well, something else happened today too concerning my school, and it was a really dangerous situation. ;'(

    xoxo Morning
