unsatisfied

we run up into the morning, and the pace is too fast

for children living in the dark.

it's quiet all around.

but i am breathing too hard.

just hold your breath, i gasp and my cheeks are flame.

and we sit there with our convulsing lungs

listening to the wind

and the soft sound of the sun.

it's worth the tears, and possibly the blood we've drawn

from wandering the heights between life and death.

it's time to keep going.

but i am now out of breath.

just up to that next rock, you laugh because i'm lying.

we're going all the way up to the sky.

i have no choice now.

i have tasted the good Light

and i am still unsatisfied.
