in my blood

yesterday, i let go of you.

i tangled my feet in my covers.

i ate a bowl of cereal and i laughed until i choked when i saw my sister's bed head.

i stood out in the sunshine.

i put my feet into the concrete impressions i left when i was four.

i drank a cup of tea.

i watched a Christmas movie.

i  curled up in my bed and fell asleep.

yesterday was just another day.

because i think i will always be letting go.

it's in my blood.
